Sustainability

Prioritizing sustainability decisions is becoming increasingly important for businesses and individuals. ATG is doing our part through paperless processes, a greatly reduced commuting environment, and a robust virtual workplace. We also provide a suite of booking and reporting tools which guide travelers and offer critical and timely data to help businesses review and create policy decisions based on their own travel footprint.

We are part of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council

ATG holds a membership with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and our staff members have completed GSTC training to obtain official certification.

The four pillars of the GSTC criteria serves as the global baseline standards for sustainability in travel.

The criteria are used for education and awareness-raising, policy-making for businesses and government agencies and other organization types, measurement and evaluation, and as a basis for certification.

A truly end-to-end solution

ATG reinforced its commitment to providing the best in sustainability travel technology by partnering with SQUAKE to provide our clients with both carbon emission calculations and tangible compensation of all travel related emissions. We are the first TMC to offer SQUAKE in this capacity with deployment planned for mid 2024. This new relationship provides ATG’s clients with a truly end-to-end solution, designed to achieve corporate goals by bringing emissions visibility into the booking & decision-making process, at the traveler/booking level. By connecting ATG systems to the SQUAKE API, we are able to provide emissions calculations for flight, hotel, bus, rail and car rental usage. CO2 footprints are calculated according to internationally recognized standards. The API can provide the option to add a compensation option at checkout via ATG’s online booking tools or via an agent.

Driving sustainability decisions

Business travel is an essential tool for today’s commerce, and traveling across the country and the globe are required for businesses to be successful. As businesses increasingly prioritize sustainability as an essential part of their travel policies, ATG can provide the necessary data for informed policy decisions. With a focus on corporate responsibility, CO2 output for travel booked via ATG, is a reportable factor. ATG offers proprietary reporting that measures the environmental impact of business travel. Beyond just measuring the total CO2 footprint of travel, ATG assists in establishing goals for our corporate clients that help drive sustainability decisions. Available actions include preferential direction for suppliers that promote sustainable behaviors, calculating CO2 emissions per trip and its cost per mile, and encouraging traveling employees to book ‘greener’ options.
