ATG Business Travel Management’s breakthrough Big Data & Artificial Intelligence technology, Baldwin, was presented at the 2023 Business Travel Innovation Faceoff, held at Convene in New York City. The exclusive industry event featured thirteen presentations of cutting-edge products, technologies and services developed by suppliers to address industry challenges and support managed business travel and/or business travelers.
The Faceoff is part of Innovate, the premier corporate travel industry gathering combining cutting-edge education, technology innovators and industry networking for hundreds of corporate travel managers/travel procurement professionals. Innovate attendees participate in Think Tanks, Master Classes and the Business Travel Innovation Faceoff.
Each Faceoff presenter had seven minutes of uninterrupted speaking time to share and demo their technology or service, followed by four minutes of questions from a panel of expert judges and two minutes of audience Q&A. ATG was asked by the BTN Group to present Baldwin, the Intelligent Booking Tool for the attendees and judges.
The 2023 Faceoff event panel of judges were Jeff Hillenmayer, Manager of Hotel Program Strategy for Amazon Travel & Events; Norm Rose, President at Travel Tech Consulting; Hansini Sharma, Practice Lead of Corporate Travel at Acquis Consulting and last year’s winner Dennis Vilovic, Founder & co-CEO of Troop.
ATG Business Travel Management (ATG) partnered with IBM Watson in 2019 to develop the ultimate experience in booking travel. The goal was to improve the booking experience and reduce redundancies by applying Artificial Intelligence capabilities married to Big Data. The result is Baldwin.
Peter Ashworth, ATG’s European Managing Director, who presented Baldwin for the 200+ corporate travel managers/travel procurement professionals in attendance, stated, “Online booking tools really haven’t changed much in the past 25 years and the consequence is an experience that is both time-consuming and impersonal. The changes that OBTs have made have been responses to industry changes so the innovation has basically been non-existent. ATG’s vision was to solve the redundancy and the complexity within the booking experience so we took the ‘online’ out of booking and replaced it with ‘intelligence.’ Baldwin is our Intelligent Booking Tool, and we are thrilled the Innovation Faceoff attendees have honored the significance of this breakthrough technology.”
